Thank you for your interest in our hospital. To ensure that your animal will receive the best of care, it is important that you look into the veterinary hospital where he/she will be treated. The Cheat Lake Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary hospital. We do everything here from annual vaccinations to EKG readings and radiographs. We have an in-house blood machine and will perform a variety of surgeries, from routine spays and neuters to orthopedic pin placements. We have an Underwater Treadmill for rehabilitation and weight loss. We have recently opened a Canine Rehabilitation Center and Animal Wellness Center in the lower level of our facility.
Our hospital has been under it's current ownership since August 2000. Dr. Jean Meade purchased the practice at that time and Dr. Thomas Shriver became a partner in July 2001. The hospital currently has five veterinarians, three registered veterinary technicians, several clinic assistants, seven receptionists, and five kennel assistants. We always welcome students for internships at our facility, including aspiring veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and pharmacists.
The members of our staff hold a strong devotion to our clients and patients, and also continuously work very closely with community projects involving the Monongalia County Humane Society, Canine Adoption Center, Preston County Animal Shelter and Animal Friends of North Central West Virginia.
Previously located at Mariner Plaza, we constructed our new facility on Route 857 and moved our practice in November 2003.
